A curriculum can be defined as the experiences of a student that he will face throughout the educational process. It is a well-planned and properly defined sequence of instructions. You can say that a curriculum is a set of learning goals that a student can achieve in different grades. Many countries in the world have their national curriculum. Some under developed countries have dissimilarity in their curriculum. The elite class schools are teaching a different organized one and low-grade schools are teaching their students a substandard curriculum. This disparity cannot be seen in developed countries. Under mentioned are some of the most popular curriculums that are accepted worldwide.
IGCSE
IGCSE is an abbreviation of International General Certificate of Secondary Education. This system of curriculum was introduced some twenty-five years ago. The core purpose of its introduction was to facilitate the students who are not from English speaking countries. Those students were eligible to take this exam. IGCSE is giving a wide list of subjects to students from which they can choose the subjects of their own choice. There are multiple foreign languages that can be opted as a subject. There is a minimum and maximum paper limit for the students in which they can take exam.
IB (Diploma)
IB is an abbreviation of International Baccalaureate. It is like an alternative to A-levels and is offering by the independent schools. They are taking examinations twice a year. This system was introduced by the Switzerland in 1968. They are offering a diploma program which is very much effective for the students competing in this professional and highly competitive world. It will develop students in all aspects like emotionally, intellectually and socially. The course is designed in such a way that it will prepare you for the next step of higher education. There are five groups of subjects from which you are required to select 1 subject (each group).
AP
AP is an abbreviation of Advanced Placement and it is a program run by the College Board. The advance placement program will give you an introduction of college while you are still in high school. It is helping you getting college credits. They are offering the students 38 subjects. The students are required to the chose the subjects of their choice from these 38 subjects. The AP program is allowing students to show their interests in certain subjects. You can take any AP specialized subject exam and by passing it you can improve your profile. It will show the college selection board that you are taking serious interest in the respective subject. The program is also assisting students in improving their college applications. You can easily get registration of advance placement program through you school. You can also find AP coordinators in some schools for the facilitation of students.
